Why did your athletes join synchro? Why are the still in synchro? For recreational athletes and young competitive athletes it is all about the games. Even for older athletes adding in games will add a change of pace to practice and if used properly can enforce skills you are working on!
Whenever playing games remember the MAX rule: You want the MAX amount of your athletes participating for the MAX amount of time. Try to avoid games that involve people sitting 'out'. Instead they can do 10 bobs, or show a position to get back into the game. Sitting on the side isn't fun for anyone!
Also, when we are playing these games, we want to make sure that we STOP the came BEFORE it gets boring.
Try using these games to ENFORCE skills that you are teaching during class or TEACH new skills. Avoid using games that will eat up your class time without working on some of the skills you would like to work on.
